Participation Lessons From Europe
ACELG with consortium partner the University of Canberra has published a new resource called 'Public Participation in an Era of Governance: Lessons From Europe for Australian Local Government'. Written by Professor Mark Evans (with Richard Reid), the report aims to provide an academically informed and practical insight into leading European practice in public participation and to assess the implications of these findings for citizen-centric local government in Australia.
The report is intended as a useful resource for local governments embarking on processes of problem-solving in response to social change, and includes attachments about the OECD’s principles for open and inclusive policy-making, and public participation methods and their utility.
