Alan has recently completed a monograph on housing tenure and older people that will be available in 2016. His most recent research focus has been on long-term private renters. His publications in 2015 include:

• A Practical Introduction to In-depth Interviewing (book)
• 'Doing the ‘hard yakka’: implications of Australia’s workfare policies for disabled people' (book chapter)
• 'The residualisation of public housing and its impact on older tenants in inner-city Sydney, Australia' (journal article).
