Ben Dowler is a Social Planner and Researcher with experience across a range of built environment and social planning and research projects, including areas such as social infrastructure, service provision, sense of place, local government, social housing, community development, sustainability, youth services, qualitative and quantitative research and analysis; including in depth interviews and focus groups with persons from social and culturally diverse backgrounds, community and stakeholder engagement and a keen focus on environmental concerns. Ben's experience prior to joining UTS Centre for Local Government includes working as a Senior Consultant at Urbis and working as an Urban Planning Assistant at JBA Urban Planning Consultants. Ben has attained a Bachelor of Planning – First Class Honours, from the University of New South Wales completing his 5th year thesis on 'sense of place' in public housing within the Mount Druitt local area, completing numerous in-depth interviews with local residents.
