The conference theme is 'Dynamics of City Management: Lessons in Citizen Engagement, Government Transparency and Innovative Public Services'. Conference sub-themes include, but are not limited to:

For the past several decades, discussions about development have centered on governance, administrative reform, citizen participation, and empowerment. From around the world, experiences with development and reform reveal to us a variety of challenges and opportunities for more active roles of local governments. Burgeoning public policy issues – such as domestic violence, inequity, healthcare, and education – require innovative solutions that are both cost-effective and socially acceptable.

The 6th ICLG serves as a venue where academicians and practitioners come together to learn and share experiences. Insights gained through this mutual learning process will advance and existing body of knowledge in local government and development. IALG invites academicians, policy-makers, and practitioners from around the world to submit papers and participate in this conference. We look forward to accepting your papers and your presence at the 6th International Conference on Local Government in Khon Kaen, Thailand.

Abstract and Paper Submission

Please submit abstracts by June 15, 2015 to [email protected], including ICLG2015 on the subject line. Full papers are not required, but necessary for those competing for 'Excellent Paper' awards. Each presenter must submit his/her abstract of no more than 250 words, excluding title, authors, affiliations, and keywords. The following types of papers are welcome: review articles, original research articles, and case studies.

All abstracts and papers will undergo a peer reviewing process and will appear in the conference proceedings. Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Local Administration Journal (included in Thailand Citation Index: TCI) or Journal of African and Asian Local Government Studies, the electronic journal of IALG.
