Ronald Woods has 30 years' Australian and international experience in social policy and the human services, including work as a social work practitioner, academic and research consultant. He brings a range of service development, community engagement, writing and teaching skills to the Centre. After completing his undergraduate degree in 1982, Ronald practised as a social worker and academic in Australia, South Africa and Hungary. His practice, research and teaching has included substantial research consultancy experience. He has an interest in public policy and social service provision, research and program evaluation, and the training of community service practitioners and administrators.

Ronald has been involved in studies focusing on a wide range of social issues, including disability, mental health, workforce participation, gender and sexuality, health promotion and services for older citizens. His professional involvement in the policy, practice and research associated with community services is complemented by an interest in local and international innovations with regard to social-ecological sustainability and the strengthening of local democracy.
