Shayne Silcox
Dr Shayne Silcox is the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Melville one of Western Australia’s largest local governments, with an annual budget of some $133 million and 104,000+ customers.
Dr Silcox has over 40 years' experience spanning the private sector, state and local government arenas. He has extensive government, corporate and commercial knowledge, direct experience in managing large workforces, as well as board and director experience across a wide range of small to large businesses.
Shayne is a Past President of Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA-WA); Member, Ministerial Local Government Advisory Board; Director, National Local Government Managers Association Board (LGMA); Member, Local Government Ministerial Reform Committee; Member, Finances and Services Committee – Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA); Chair, Better Practice Group in Local Government; Member, National Business Excellence Evaluation Group; Member, National Local Government Workforce Planning, among others.
Dr Silcox has received high-level acknowledgement for his work in the public sector, including the Public Service Medal (2011); Finalist for Citizen of the year 2011 (also nominated 2010); Recognised with Environmental "Officer Leadership Award" by Environs Australia (2009); and Awarded WA Customer Service CEO of the year & runner up Nationally CEO (2008).
